Calling for Justice Together
(Commemorating
1,000th Wednesday Protest)
We cordially invite you to our
event on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. The Korean American Voters’ Council and
the Kupferberg Holocaust Center are hosting a gathering allowing Comfort Women
survivors and Holocaust survivors to come together to retell their stories during
the World War II.
This event is planned to
connect the separate war crimes under the light of human rights and to commemorate
the 1,000th Comfort Women Wednesday Protest. Comfort Women survivors
have been gathered together every Wednesday since January 1992 to protest
against downplaying Comfort Women issue.
The program will bring together the representatives
of Comfort Women survivors and Holocaust survivors and to not only relate their
stories but act as a focal point of calling attention to the world of what has
taken place.
Please come to this meaningful
event and support the Comfort Women and Holocaust survivors.

일본군 위안부 피해자와
홀로코스트 생존자의 만남
(수요시위 1,000회 기림 행사)
2011년 12월 13일(화요일) 행사에 초대합니다. 한인유권자센터와 커퍼버그 홀로코스트 센터는 일본군 위안부 생존자와 홀로코스트 생존자가 상봉하여, 2차 세계대전 중 그들이 겪은 이야기를 나누고 함께 일본의 공식적인 인정과 사과를 요구하는 행사를 개최합니다.
이 행사는 동시대에 다른 곳에서 비슷한 인권침해를 경험한 일본군 위안부 생존자와 홀로코스트 생존자가 함께 인류 공동의 가치인 인권보호를 지지하고, 한국 서울에서 벌어질 1,000회 위안부 수요집회를 기념하는 것을 목적으로 하고있습니다. 일본군 위안부 생존자들은 함께 모여 1992년 1월부터 약 20년동안 매주 수요일마다 위안부 이슈의 왜곡을 저지하는 수요집회를 가져왔습니다.
미국과 세계 정계 및 재계를 이끌고 있는 유태인 커뮤니티의 주요 이슈인 홀로코스트와 일본군 위안부 이슈를 연대하여, 일본군 위안부 이슈를 세계적 인권 이슈로 발전시키고 일본의 잘못된 역사관을 전세계에 알리게 될 것 입니다.
